After a night in Tallahassee we made our way up through Alabama to Nashville! I was highly anticipating this city as I've heard great things about it. We stayed at an extended stay hotel just outside the city and went downtown the night we arrived. Very fun city -- live music in just about every bar and an overall sweet atmosphere. The next day we went back downtown to check out the Country Music Hall of Fame -- it's closed every Tuesday in Jan and Feb (classic). So instead we just walked around a bit, checked out Centennial Park, and got our first oil change!!!! (shout out to Robbie -- your baby is doing well). We then went to dinner at one of Timmy's friend's apartments, Stephanie, before hitting the town again. I really enjoyed everything about Nashville, definitely one I'd go back to.

Tearin' it up in the dirty South
The next day we hit the road for another 8 hour drive back through Alabama and Mississippi to New Orleans!!!! We stayed at a hotel right in the French Quarter as the crime rate in NOLA is one of the highest in the country. Naturally we headed to Bourbon Street (about 4 blocks from our hotel) for dinner, got some recommendations from our awesome waiter, went back to the hotel to shower and bower, and then headed back to Bourbon Street -- so many bars with live music, tons of street performers, and overall FUN. The next day (a little rough) we walked around the French Market (much like a flea market) and the streets of the French Quarter. I loved how the majority of the buildings were not modernized in any way -- very old architecture. After regrouping/naps we headed out for another night on the town.
Today we hit the road again and are bunking in Houston at another extended stay hotel ($25 a night, thank you priceline) for the next two nights -- I'm excited to see what this state is all about :)
City rankings:
New Orleans, Nashville, Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington, Raleigh, DC, Baltimore, Philly
More to come.....!
