On Sunday we drove to Colorado, and about 2o mins away from Cheyenne, Timmy realized the gas light went on, lets just say it was a VERY close call, but we made it to a gas station! Monday we headed to Boulder and did a hike up Eldorado Canyon and drove on Flagstaff road to get a great view of the city. We then headed downtown Boulder for a bite to eat at a local pub and brewery, and one of our servers was actually from Dennis! We then met up with our mutual friend JJ Bruno (whose family summers on the same street at Timmy's) and his girlfriend for a drink at a bar downtown in the college area.
Tuesday we went downtown Denver and walked around 16th street mall and got a feel for the city. We then drove to Red Rocks, a recommendation by my dad, which is about 20 mins west of Denver, and is home to an amphitheater where famous musicians have played along with many, you guessed it, red rocks. Very cool. We headed to the little downtown area of Red Rocks for lunch before driving to Colorado Springs. My friend from UNH lives in CO springs so we stayed with her for the night after an afternoon of walking through Garden of the Gods (bunch of trails around/up and down rock forms) with her new puppy! It was great to see a friendly face from home and reminisce over a home cooked taco dinner.
In the morning we headed to Mt. Rushmore
I absolutely loved Colorado, definitely a place I could see myself living in at some point :)
