Mt. Rushmore & South Dakota

We woke up early on Wednesday for a big day of driving and little sight seeing. We made it to Mt. Rushmore in about 7 hours and got to stretch our legs on a beautiful afternoon. It was pretty surreal to see the monument as it seemed like we were just looking at a picture. Timmy has a friend from Needham, Nicole, who is doing Teach For America in St. Francis, SD so we headed there for the night. She lives in a trailor with one roommate right next to the school on an Indian Reservation. It was very interesting to learn about the community and her experience working at the school and definitely a culture shock to say the least. We had tacos again for dinner, and were all early to bed as we had a LONG day ahead of us.
