LA/San Fran

LA was as expected, massive. True to stories, EVERYONE drives and traffic is a very real daily nightmare. As Timmy and Emma can attest, my road rage is off the charts and therefore LA would not be the city for me! The LA smog and nighttime light pollution is also a very real thing as the stars and the blue sky are continual out of sight.

Apart from these downsides though, LA is a very unique city! Brian Depasquale and Sydney Fleischmann both gave us different tours of the city allowing us to be quite the tourists! Perhaps the most unique thing about LA is its zoning? The city is laid out such that commercial and residential areas are crammed right next to each other? Intermingled and spread out all over the place. You can be on Hollywood Blvd or Sunset Ave and move one street over and be in the quietest nicest little neighborhood imaginable! So very strange!

I think San Fran has taken over the top spot on my list of cities I love. It's a large city which doesn't normally fit my criteria, but it's also so very quaint! It has a busy downtown, but all the other sections of the city are beautiful neighborhoods! All low-rise buildings with parks dropped in here and there. There also seems to be a ton of stuff to do in San Fran. Not for just the tourist, but the resident! Great sightseeing areas, walking areas, shopping areas.

That's all for now, but I'll try to post again soon!
