Day 43 - Viva Las VEGAS!

We all woke up pretty easily this morning. What was on our minds you ask? V-E-G-A-S!!!

Today was the day that had finally come! In a matter of hours, we would be checking into the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. Now to someone who has never been to Vegas before, it is a mystery as to what it really is. Well I was fortunate enough to go with my parents when I was in high school. I was 15 at the time and all we could really do was visit the different casinos and check out the themes. Well, now that I am above the age of 21, it might as well have been a different country. Now that I could drink AND gamble…it was a whole different ballgame of a city.

Out hotel was sick; a whole castle/knights of the round table theme! The casino floor was modest. Once we got our stuff to the room we hit the strip to just check it out. Now Excalibur is towards the beginning of the strip so we learned the hard way that everything is further down the strip.

We took it a little easy the first night….kind of. We made some drinks in our room while we got ready and started struttin’ down the strip. We just tried to get our bearings in line and walked into most of the casinos we passed, not gambling a whole lot. It was around the Bellagio where we realized we were kind of pooped. What we didn’t realize was how long it really took us to walk back! Each casino it the size of 4 city blocks…maybe even more!

We need to save our energy for the days to come though…
