The land of celebs

We landed a cheap(ish) hotel outside of LA, about 2o mins north, that was in our price range. Our first stop was to see our friend Brian or as we call him, Depo. We met up with him at his apartment then headed to the Grove/Farmers Market in the Hollywood area where we walked around and grabbed some dinner. Then we headed out for a few drinks while we caught up with Depo. Unfortunately, he is very busy and could only spend a short time with us but gave us a list of all of the other things we must do. After, we went out to froyo with Sydney and her parents, and caught up with them.

Monday we headed to Santa Monica, which is about 20 mins west of LA. We walked out on the boardwalk, took some pics, rode the ferris wheel, and walked down to Venice beach. Depo had warned us how different the people are down there and he sure was right. A whole different world. We grabbed some lunch by the pier in Venice beach, then walked along the waterline on the way back to Santa Monica pier. We then went inland to the 3rd street promenade to do a little shopping/walk around. We headed back to LA to a restaurant Depo had suggested, attempted to go to the Griffith Observatory to see the skyline, but got lost, and headed back to the hotel for some Dexter instead.

Tuesday we got our 2nd oil change! (she's doing so well!) and then met up with Sydney, who let me say, has a beautiful apartment just a block away from Hollywood Blvd! We walked along Hollywood for a little bit, got to see Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theater, and all the stars on the sidewalk. Then headed out of town through Beverley Hills for lunch in a little downtown area. On our way back to her apartment we went on Mulholland Drive to get a view from up top of the city, amazing. We parted with Sydney and headed back to the hotel to re-group. From there we headed into down to another restaurant recommended by Depo called Home, so good! And made a successful attempt this time to Griffith Observatory, once again an incredible view. We ended our last evening with a few episodes of Dexter (suprise!)

Next stop.....San Fran with a little detour on the Pacific Coast Highway....

oh and for the record...we did not see any celebs :(
